Personal Statement
In my current capacity as local EduTech Startup Reactor's Engagement & Community Manager, I help create opportunities for educators and students to interact with the Reactor brand, on #TeamReactor's mission to cultivate young founders of the future. I lead Reactor's Engagement Strategy across all consumer groups and engagement channels, as well as our content-driven Inbound Marketing Strategy, and bringing our team to exhibit at various EduTech Conferences. In addition, I’m in charge of bringing the human touch to our brand, and also help with the design and branding of our marketing collaterals. These experiences have allowed me to upskill quickly in Engagement Strategy, Inbound & Digital Marketing using Hubspot CRM, as well as Events Management.
I also head the Reactor Educator Network (REN), which seeks to empower Entrepreneurship Educators through providing premier entrepreneurship education content, organising professional development masterclasses and events for educators interested in Innovation, Business, Entrepreneurship and Design. In July 2018, with the support of the National Youth Fund under the National Youth Council, I headed the Reactor Startup Immersion for Educators (RSIE), which gave youth educators around ASEAN the opportunity to experience first-hand what it’s like to work in a startup. In end 2018, I also had the wonderful opportunity to be a speaker and panellist at the ASEAN University Student Council Conference, presenting on the topic of Industry 4.0.
My working experience includes an internship at Inter Media Japan in Tokyo, as Assistant Creative Director for their magazine Japan and the World, and also working in local Advertising firm The Alchemy Partnership. These opportunities have allowed me to glean a taste of working as a Graphic Designer, from how to work well under pressure to understanding how to design for various needs. As a graduate of the National University of Singapore with a major in Interactive Media Design and minor in Technopreneurship, I have experience designing for various means including advertising and marketing, social media, website design, applications, games, as well as design fiction projects.
I’m also a freelance modern calligrapher and designer, having started my own design businesses EllyMintyDesigns and Happi.Monki, and am a freelance assistant calligrapher with Wild Lavender Studios. Having fallen in love with acappella music as the head of SHeares Hall acappella in my university days, I currently sing with local acappella group MixTehPing. Our portfolio includes performances at Botanic Gardens, Esplanade, and Jewel Changi Airport.
As someone who holds great passion across many areas, I love bringing influences from many aspects of my life into my work. Creating personalised designs, and going the extra mile to make people feel special is what sparks joy in me. I'm excited to welcome exciting opportunities to come!
